This 1928 restored colonial home has captured the elegance of the 1940's with lovely themed rooms. It began as a family estate and became an inn in 1961. Its namesake, Charles W. Morgan, the famous whaling industry giant, once roamed this area of Connecticut and his fishing vessel resides on display in Mystic Harbor. This unique inn has been refurbished down to the curve of the pane glass windows, french doors, and other fixtures. Each of the five bedrooms is decorated with collectibles from the 1940's, embracing an admiration for the music of a bygone time. Browse through the inn to see the antique phonographs and photo albums, which help guests travel back to the wonderful days of Swing and Big Band. Guests can gather in the main room to relax or they can stretch beyond the fireplace and into the cozy sun porch. The inviting dining area and kitchen accommodate intimate weddings or meetings.

The Morgan Inn is located in the quaint town of Pawcatuck and is within a few miles of Mystic Seaport, Westerly, Rhode Island, Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Casinos, and Block Island beaches along with many other Connecticut Coast attractions. The inn truly offers a getaway for all occasions and a warm vacation stay near many exciting area activities. Visit the Mystic Aquarium to see some interesting animals, hop on down to the Nautilus and Submarine Force Museum to see the first nuclear powered submarine, or visit the Florence Griswold Museum to see some wonderful paintings. For a fun time, visit a local winery for some tasting, visit one of the casinos, or head outside to hike or bike in the breezy air.

| Driving Directions
16 South Broad Street, Mystic, CT - From the south: Take I-95 to exit 91. At the end of the ramp there is a traffic light. Go straight across to 234 East. Proceed 3 1/2 miles to the end of the road. There will be a traffic light. (South Broad Street or Route 1). Take a right up the hill about 1/4 of a mile. The Morgan Inn is on the left at the top of the hill. The inn is 6 1/2 miles from downtown Mystic. From the north: Take I-95 to exit 92. Follow the signs to Rt. 2 (Rt. 49). There will be a traffic light. Take a left unto Route 2 East. Route 2 runs into Route 1. (Broad Street) Take a right up the hill. Stay on Route 1 at the traffic light. After the light proceed 1/4 of a mile up the hill The Morgan Inn is on the left. The inn is 6 1/2 miles from downtown Mystic. |
